This year, I'd like to make more time for reading, as it is something that both inspires & relaxes me. It ignights the inner workings of my mind like none of the previously listed activities do. When I read, I feel better mentally.
My wife and I have a two and a half year old boy, as well as a seven month old baby girl. Making time for reading has been... difficult. Because of a low energy level by the end of the day, reading is usually not my go. In those moments, I'd much prefer a more immediately gratifying task like gaming, browsing the web, or something else along those lines.
I know that a desire to read more won't actually get me closer to my goal. The most important aspect is implementing a plan to read more. So far, the simple acts of waking up early and opting for a book rather than my phone in my breaks has already helped. Another thing I thought could inspire me is setting a numbered goal for myself for the year. A good friend of mine recommended 12. One book per month seems doable to me!
Here are the 12 books I'd like to read through in 2025:
